After Ken's motivation,he helped me in laundry and cooking. I was astonished as I didn't know Ken was a good cook.
We finished cooking and serve the food to my mother in-law and Cynthia as my husband had gone to work.
I wanted to depart after serving them but Ken instructed me to join them in the dinning table.
I hesitated but Ken insisted that I should sit down on the dinning chair and I sat down terrifyingly.
My mother in-law looked at me ignominiously and Cynthia was frustrated that I was eating with them.
"Bia Why is there plenty pepper in this soup?" My mother in-law asked angrily.
"Mama I cooked this food myself and I'm pretty sure it's not peppery because I'm also eating it" Ken replied.
Cynthia left the dinning table instantly as she was discontented seeing me eating with them.
My mother in-law also left as she was looking at us as if we were dunces.
Ken immediately took their plates of soup with plenty wraps of fufu and we shared it together.
We ate to our satisfaction and Ken beseeched that he had a story to tell me and he wanted us to stay in my room.
I was fastidious "I hope he don't want to copulate with me "I said in my mind.
I finally obliged with him and we invaded to my room. Ken told me a lot of humorous stories and I laughed out my frets.
Immediately,we heard an abrupt knock at the door.
"Who could that be" I muttered
"I don't know dear" Ken replied.
Ken opened the door and descried Mike.
"What are you doing in my wife's room Ken?"Mike asked wrathfully
"Oh! you're calling her your wife now after so many months of maltre.atment" Ken replied profusely.
"Hey young man,you don't deserve her;she deserves better! "Ken added.
I was just looking,I didn't utter a word.
Mike left as though he blew his top.
Ken told me not to worry that he is here for me.
I blew away the cobwebs as Ken continued with his story.
EPISODE 10
After Ken had finished with his storytelling,we planned surreptitiously to act like couples in other to make Mike who doesn't know diddly of what we had planned jealous.
Ken made the plan and at the first thought of it, I didn't agree but later on,I concorded with him.
We seldom hug each other in front of Mike my husband and his envisage will be full of wrath.
Initially he didn't act because his wife and his mother will be annoyed with him but later on he started separating me from Ken each time we hug at his sight.
Ken didn't give a dime as he always feeds me in the dinning table and my husband and Cynthia will immediately leave in annoyance.
My mother in-law will be looking at us sarcastically as if we had gone bananas.
Ken instructed me not to espy at those people that they will soon regret their actions.
I was once again in full wings as Ken was verily treating me like a Queen.
Ken always praise me that I looked like a million dollars.
He gave me all attention, caring and love a husband will give to his wife.
One day,Ken was telling me a humorous story and I was laughing infectiously. The story was really rib cracking as the laughter transformed in to full fledged chortle.
Instantly,my husband evaded intrudingly as though he heard my stilted giggle.
"Ken what are you doing with my wife?" "He asked"
"Ken what are you doing in with my wife" "Ken mimicked Mike"
I've deciphered that you aren't ashamed of yourself,how can you treat a woman like a slave and still call her your wife? "Ken added rudely"
Mike immediately stab Ken on his stomach and blood was gushing out effusively and he said "I cursed what we shared at the past as blood brothers,rest in peace cause you're definitely going to die"
Cynthia was crying ironically while my mother in-law was shouting.
My heart was staggering and my eyes was filled with tears of misery.
I carried Ken at my back as I boarded a Tricycle that rushed us to the hospital.
EPISODE 11
When we got to the hospital,the doctor ordered that I should go to the lab for blood transfusion.
I went to the lab instantly and luckily my blood group was O+. A Pint of blood was transfused from me to Ken.
Ken was grasping to breath as though the knife tampered with his intestines.
The doctor was in doubt if Ken will survive the injury.
Ken was gulping out lumps of blood and his heart was staggering.
Ken looked me in the face and he saw tears flowing down my cheeks and he said with his mouth shaking:
"Even if I didn't survive this, don't shiver,be brave !I love you"
My eyes twinkled and tears rolled in torrents down my face, streaming into the corner of my mouth and tasting like salt.
"God why?" I shouted!.
I went home instantly and no one asked how Ken was fairing. I was abandoned,like a stone at the bottom of a lake. Silence sank like sad music in my heart,and descended on my soul in pitiable layers.
I stumbled as I steeped out into the sun to pick up my head-tie which had fallen on the ground during the course of prolonged wailing.
"Where will I get money for Ken's hospital bills?" I asked myself.
I was wallowing in penury and goosebumps filled up my skin.
I went to Mike,knelt down and beseeched him to help his brother,who was dieing but mike gulped out a saliva on my face and slapped me.
"After sleeping with you" he ranted
I stood up shamefully and I went back to the hospital.The doctor was kind-hearted as he asked me not to worry about the bills that he knew what I was going through.
My face was wreath with smiles as I thanked God adorably.
EPISODE 12
After I was done exaltating God for the miraculous things he have done,I went straight to where Ken was lying with bandage applied to his stomach.
Ken was facing the ceiling with his eyes closed and infusion was steeping into his body slowly.
I was very tired and fatigued.I couldn't feel my body anymore cause I've lost one pipe of blood.
My head was aching and I was infected with conjunctivitis (Appolo).
My teeth set on edge and my mouth was shaking.
I yelled at the Nurse insistently as she came and
gave me some drugs and after taking those drugs,I slept like a log.
As Soon as I woke up, Ken eyes opened. I was beside myself as I hugged Ken cheerfully.
I gave him a kiss at his forehead because I was the motive of all the pains he was going through.
Ken looked at me with tears streaming down his face.
He thanked me for saving his life that I was the best person he had ever met.
He finally said the he'll never let me go that I'll always be by his side.
I was astonished hearing this from him and tears of joy welled up my eyes and in my mind I asked myself this questions:
"What would have been my fate if Ken wasn't by my side? How'll I thank Ken for being at the side of an Orphan who was helpless?
How'll I thank God?.
I hugged Ken and we were very ecstatic because we thought the world was over for us.
Two days later,Ken was discharged and we went to his friend's apartment.
We stayed there for two days and Ken was navigating around the city as he was looking for a paid job.
Fortunately,Ken was employed and the company gave him a car and a furnished apartment.
We moved in the next day after buying some clothes and some food items.
We were living happily and those moments was really memorable and I won't forget it in a hurry.
Mike heard that we were living together and he was full with rage and anger.
