CHAPTER 2 ~ IN THE TIGER’S DEEN
Shine woke up and met herself in a dark room. She tried to walk towards the door but stumbled, she stood up gently and crawled slowly to the wall and through the wall she got to the door, she then tried to open the door but it was locked from outside, she kept banging on the door so that they could open the door, then someone opened the door. Immediately she saw him, she recognized he was among those men that came to her house. she froze as she stared at him, he grasped her hair and she screamed in pain.
“I thought you were so strong, how dare you bang the door” Shorty said and pushed her on the floor.
Shorty walked towards her and was about to hit her when she pleaded with him to leave her but he smirked and grasped her hair again.
“You are getting tortured because of your father, how dare he steal money here, he even made boss kill Bullet all because we were searching for him and Miklo is in the cage because of him. I will make sure you suffer just as my two best friends suffered” Shorty said with anger lamed in his voice.
She pleaded for her life but the more she kept begging him the more it got him angry. Not long after, a guy in a black suit showed up.
“Shorty, the boss asked you to bring her,” The guy said.
“Cruzito, don’t you think the boss should make her suffer?” Shorty said, facing the other guy but the guy didn’t say anything, he was only staring at the floor.
Shorty grasped her hair harder as they walked out of the room together, they got to the livingroom and met Vito sitting on the couch working on the system. Shorty pushed her on the floor, Vito stopped what he was doing and turned to her.
“Do you think you can escape yesterday? I told you there is no room for you to escape, I already used you as a replacement for my money and I will make sure you suffer” He said in a cold tone.
“Can you please leave me alone, I am begging you… I will make sure I pay your money, please” She pleaded loudly but he suddenly strangled her neck.
“If you don’t behave yourself I will kill you right now” He said with a frown.
“Vito, why are you so nice to her? We need to let her know she is not here to have fun, she should be tortured now” Rubella said, walking in.
Vito glanced at her and left Shine, Rubella sat down next to him. Shine bowed her head down as hot tears rolled down her cheek.
“How could father do this to me, he made me suffer all because of his foolishness and now he didn’t even show up to check if I am still alive or not” She thought as she whimpered silently.
“Hey, daughter of a thief… how dare your father steal money in this territory, have he forgotten who Vito is?” Rubella said but she didn’t even answer, she bowed her head down not saying anything.
Rubella got angry and gripped her neck, she strangled it tightly.
“How dare you ignore me, you even have the guts to do that” Rubella said with a frown.
Vito didn't even bother to look at Shine or stop Rubella from hurting her, Shine winced in pain.
“I…I…am…so…rry” She stuttered.
Rubella smirked and hit her head on the wall, with anger Shine slapped her hard, everyone gasped. Vito stood up with anger and walked towards her, he pushed her against the wall and strangled her neck, he pushed her on the table and ordered the guards to tie her hands on the table, he then asked them to wipe her with the rope.
“Vito, let me do it,” Rubella said.
“Rubella, don’t think I am doing this because of you… I am doing this because she dared raise her hand after what her father did” He said and Rubella smirked.
The guys wiped Shine with the rope until she was not able to move again or screamed.
“Please, let me go… don’t hurt me, I am begging you” She managed to say.
Vito doesn’t care, he orders them to continue wiping me until he is satisfied, the guys were about to whip her again when an old woman rushed in and begged him to leave her.
“Ms. Lillian, I don’t want your clothes to stain with blood, please leave… how dare her father steal my money, you know I don’t joke with my money” He half yelled.
“Please Vito, she is still so young. Do you want her to die, if she dies right now there is no way you’re gonna get your money so please leave her” Ms. Lillian pleaded.
“Okay… guys take her back to the dark room and you must not give her any food for the rest of the week” He said in a serious tone.
The guards all nodded, Shorty untied her. He was taking her to the room when she suddenly felt dizzy and passed out.
When she later opened her eyes, she met herself in a large room laying on the bed, she glanced around. She stood up gently and was about to get down on the bed when Ms. Lillian showed up holding a tray of dishes, she gave her the dishes to eat.
Shine took the food and rushed to eat it. She was so hungry but couldn’t speak because she was afraid of those guys, especially Vito, their boss. He is so scary and he doesn’t have a heart, his heart is like a stone. She was busy eating when Vito showed up with Shorty and a guy she had seen before. As soon as she saw them, she stopped eating and buried her face with her hands, trying to avoid them.
“Spyder, take her back to the dark room and make sure you lock her… I want you to release Miklo because he has a mission he needs to do for me and you Shorty track down where that idiot Popeye is, when you find him, collect my drugs and money, he dares run away with my drugs” He commanded and they all nodded.
Spyder grabbed Shine’s hand tightly and took her back to the room, they got inside and he tried to move closer to her, he was about to undress her clothes when Vito showed up.
“Is that what I asked you to do?” Vito said and kicked him.
He fell on the floor.
“Boss, I am sorry. I didn’t mean to do it, Rubella sent me” Spyder said with his eyes glued to the floor.
Vito grabbed the collar of his shirt and they both walked out leaving Shine alone in the room. She could hear Vito tell one of the guys in the black suit to lock the door.
“Why is this happening? My life became this all because of my father, he stole mom’s money everyday and also made her crippled and now he is making me suffer… all my dreams have been shattered by him” She thought as tears streamed down her face.
